Leishmaniasis, also known as Kala Azar, is a serious parasitic disease transmitted by sandflies that can severely affect your pet’s health. Timely prevention is the most effective measure, which is why we strongly recommend vaccination against Leishmaniasis.
We always recommend the vaccine because this is a disease we do not want to have to deal with!
REASONS we want to avoid it:
– Symptoms vary, and in many cases, by the time they become noticeable to the owner, the disease has already progressed.
– Long-term treatment with daily medication is required.
– Multiple follow-ups are necessary (blood tests, ultrasound scans, etc.).
– The treatment itself can secondarily cause problems to the body.
– Leishmaniasis is a potentially fatal disease.
