Lilly – Rectal Prolapse

Lilly is… on board and patiently waiting for her guardian to take her home after discharge!

She was brought to our clinic with a rectal prolapse. Reduction was performed, followed by the placement of sutures using the purse-string technique.

What caused the prolapse?
In this case, chronic diarrhea.

It is important for the veterinarian, beyond performing the reduction, to investigate the underlying cause of the gastrointestinal symptoms and apply the appropriate treatment to control it. This way, the chances of recurrence are significantly reduced!
